Money orders will be available in U.S. Dollars only. Third-party payments in Canada may be made through a Creative Arts official cheque, which can be obtained by mail or in person at the credit union’s office. Fees vary by account.
In recent years travelers cheques have become cashable at fewer and fewer retailers and are often subject to hefty fees for cashing at banking institutions. Therefore, Creative Arts does not offer travelers cheques. We remind our members they will be able to use their MemberCard debit card in most countries around the world to access cash in local currency at ATMs (a small fee will usually apply) and at the point of sale at retailers wherever you see the ACCEL® or Cirrus® logos.
With your Creative Arts Savings Member Card Debit Card, you have access to hundreds of ATMs on THE EXCHANGE® ATM Network in Ontario, and over 2,400 ATMs across Canada. All ding-free.
Look for THE EXCHANGE® symbol for surcharge-free ATMs at most credit unions, HSBC Bank Canada and National Bank of Canada locations (or find a ding-free ATM online).
What’s a surcharge anyway?
A surcharge is a fee that the owner of an ATM charges to a user. ATMs that surcharge have a warning screen that appears before the completion of a transaction. Surcharges are not the same as transaction or account fees, and could range anywhere from $1.25 per transaction and up.
A surcharge isn't the same as a regular ATM service fee. Find out more about Creative Arts Savings' ATM service fees by clicking here.
What’s THE EXCHANGE Network?
THE EXCHANGE Network is a full-service ATM network. Participants include most credit unions, HSBC, and National Bank of Canada. This gives all Creative Arts Savings members the benefit of surcharge-free withdrawals via their Member Card at any of these ATMs nationally.

How do I find a ding-free ATM?
You can find a ding-free ATM near you using the ATM locator at www.the-exchange.ca. You can also use your Member Card Debit Card to get cash back without an additional fee on Interac Direct Payment transactions at select merchants.
How’s that for access?
